Mods to consider for your Jeep

Jeep Wrangler Accessories - Just Jeeps

In the world of Jeep, not many owners stick to a stock vehicle during its lifetime. With so many aftermarket Jeep parts available, you can add extras in a range of areas, from rims, tires, lifting kits, bumpers, lights, beadlocks, and winches.

Let’s take a look at those mods that you should be seriously considering for your Jeep.

Lifting Kits

Of all the Jeep parts, lifting kits have many different varieties that give varying levels of ground clearance. If you are a serious off-roader, lifting your vehicle is a must, but it is imperative that it be done properly. Be aware that lifting your vehicle will significantly change how it handles on the open road. If you only use your Jeep in the city, consider an entry level lifting kit that will give a little more ground clearance than a regular suspension. A word of warning, these are difficult to install, rather let the professionals do it.

Tires

So now you have the clearance, it is time to work on your vehicles grip. There are a broad range of tires available, from excellent radial options for Jeep owners living in the city to all-terrain tires (good all-rounders), mud-terrain and other aggressive tread tires specifically aimed for off-road use. Bear in mind, off-road tires, although they can be used on the open road, will be very noisy and wear quickly when used on a daily runner. These should be utilized in off-road situations to preserve their life.

Beadlocks

As any experienced off-roader knows, when you need to let the air out of your tires for increased traction, a new problem can arise. Due to the lack of air, the tire can come off the rim by unseating itself. This can be prevented by the use of beadlocks. These help hold the tire in place between both the inner and outer rim even when the air is let out.

Lights

When it comes to lights, a Jeep owners has many options. The stock lights on the vehicle can be upgraded or alternatively, an extra set of lights can be added, usually on the roof. Although these cannot be used on the open road, they are invaluable when off-roading at night.

Of all the Jeep parts on a stock vehicle, many owners immediately choose to upgrade their lights sooner rather than later, opting for versions that offer much more light while staying within the law.

For extra lighting options, Jeepers often choose a bank of LED lights. These are incredibly powerful and perfect for off-roading at night.

Stock Jeeps are somewhat dull. Installing extra Jeep parts need not break the bank. Begin by starting with something small, such as beadlocks or even lights and work your way from there, turning your Jeep into both a trail monster and a looker of note!
