Jeep Parts from Just Jeeps

Summer is a perfect time to hit the road with your family and your trusty Jeep, finding incredible campsites and spending real quality time together. It is important, however, to plan appropriately for such a trip and have the necessary Jeep parts, be it for a short weekend or even a longer adventure. In this blog, we are going to look at a few essentials that you should always have along with you.

Cut, cut, cut!

So a camping trip is nothing without a fire right? If you are not taking firewood with you, and let’s be honest, who would, then you are going to need something to be able to cut the loose pieces of wood you will use to make your fire. In this regard either a saw or axe or in extreme cases, a chainsaw will do the job. It is also very useful to have such a tool on your Jeep if you come across a fallen tree on a trail.

Maps

You certainly won’t need a map if you are heading to your families favorite camping spot, but as soon as you begin to go to areas you may not have seen before, a map can become essential. Luckily, with a smartphone, you will not need a physical map. Make use of one of the many mapping apps available for download.

Spare jeep parts

Have a few spare jeep parts with you is never a bad idea, especially on longer trips. One thing never to leave home without is a spare wheel of course! As soon as you do, you can be assured you will get a flat pretty soon.

Rain protection

If its rain gear for your family or an extra waterproof cover for your tents, protection from summer rain is an excellent idea. Spend a little extra money on this, however, as nothing is worse than rain gear that doesn’t breathe properly.

Think on your feet

It is amazing how many people do not bring the appropriate footwear with them when camping. Sandals are not appropriate footwear. Close shoes are best, especially if they provide support to your ankles. Most camping grounds have surrounding terrain that is very rough, the last thing you want to do is turn an ankle or cut your foot open.

Tent and other accessories

Probably your most important piece of equipment when camping, is your tent. There is a massive variety available. A word of advice, if you do buy a new tent, set it up at home before you get to the campsite. Nothing is more frustrating than the sun going down and you are still struggling to get your tent set up. Don’t forget the ground mats, sleeping mats and hammocks.

Roof racks and storage compartments

Of course, you’re also going to need storage for your camping essentials. Bike racks or a roof rack that allows you to transport your kayak or paddleboard will be essential if you intend on brining such items. There are also many other types of storage designed especially for use with your Jeep. Browse our online inventory of Jeep parts to help you make your choice.
