The 97-06 TJ Wrangler is one of – if not THE – most popular Jeep of all time. If you go to any off-roading event, you’re certainly going to see a high number of them. Since they’re so popular, it’s not surprising that there are so many Jeep TJ parts available that allow you to personalize your ride. If you’re more concerned about safety or performance, you’ll find all of the parts and accessories you could ever need. Just Jeep offers a large selection of TJ and TJ Unlimited parts in all categories.
Transmissions
With this particular model, Jeep did away with lackluster transmissions. Aside from the NV 1500 or AX-5, any transmission will do for the TJ, even with a mild V8 swap. Regardless of which transmission model you have, you’ll need accessories and hardware such as fifth gear synchronizer sleeves, synchronizer keys, shaft levers, shifting brackets, etc. Omix-Ada offers snap rings in various sizes for 97-02 models. When shopping for transmissions parts, make sure everything you order is compatible with your TJ, as earlier models up to 2002 sometimes have different requirements than the 03-06 models.
Differential
This Jeep also stands out as being the first platform for the Rubicon badging, with its Dana 44 front and rear as well as an upgraded transfercase. Just Jeep carries a wide variety of Dana 44 parts, as well as accessories and parts for Dana 30, 35, and 60-80. These products include Precision Gear axle retainer plates, axle shaft bearing and seal kits, case assemblies, pinion thrust washers, and ring and pinion sets. If you need a full installation kit, many items are sold together: pinion nut, bearings and seal; carrier bearings; gear marking compound; ring gear bolts; cover gasket; lock tite, silicone sealer, and complete shim kit. The kits come with everything you need for either a ring and pinion installation or a complete differential rebuild.
Lights
One of the first modifications many Jeep Wrangler owners make is a headlight upgrade. All models prior to the 2007 JK have a sealed beam headlight that only delivers a moderate light output at best. Luckily, there are many lights and accessories that make the upgrade easy. Options range from LED lamps to Xenon headlight kits. You can buy round replacement headlights and fixtures or square headlight conversion kits.
If you want to go off-road with your Jeep, be sure to check out off-road lights and accessories. Whether you want an LED spotlight cube, spotlight bar, or any other type of light, there are plenty of options.
There are two types of LED lights you may be interested in: reflector and projector. The reflector style lights look similar to the OEM lights, with clear lens and a fluted reflector located at the back of the housing. The LEDs, which are positioned in the center, bounce light off of the reflector. The lights are typically divided into a lower and upper half, for high and low beam. Projector style LED lights have a unique appearance. The LED is positioned behind a lens and cut-off shield to make the light more focused. The cut-off pattern on the path or road is considerably sharper than that of a reflector style light. There are fewer “hot spots” on the road.
