The Jeep TJ and LJ Wrangler Gas Tank Skid Plate is the perfect combination of strength and light weight.

The gas tank skid plate saves critical weight with an aluminum shielding design while providing the necessary protection with a heavy duty steel base. The gas tank skid is a bolt on assembly, requires no welding, and weighs in at 48lbs!

The skid base is made of thick 3/16" hot rolled steel for superior strength and has a stamped recession to provide the needed clearance for the gas tank fuel pump. The skid base is then finished in MetalCloak’s signature gold zinc to protect it against the elements when wheeling.

The shielding is a multi-plate design is made of 3/16” aircraft grade aluminum keeping the weight as low as possible without any sacrifices. The bolt together design is easy to assemble and is stronger than a fully welded skid.

The gas tank skid uses the factory straps and bolts directly to factory locations providing a quick and easy installation while adding additional clearance over the stock skid.
